overclocking a k6,500mhz?

i have got hold of a pc with the above cpu,(also 2 spare cpu,s)can it be clocked,i am quite happy with it all things considered,but wonder if there is more out there?thanks.peter.

There is not a lot that you can squeeze out of this processor as far as I can remember.

I still use a k6-2-500! I tried overclocking it once to 550 but machine crashed on bootup.

I have one in a old working comp they do not like overclocking Heat problems

I still have a K6-2 500MHz as well, and I had exactly the same problems trying to overclock to 550MHz - just froze/crashed during bootup.

The difference between a K6-2 and a K6-3 is that the latter has it's own L2 cache. But what I've always wanted to know is, is there any difference between CPU L2 cache and MB L2 cache?

yes the first is on chip and it's faster than on mobo
