Output Express Opening

  Windsor 17:01 31 Dec 2006

I have use OE for many years without problems.
I now have continual problems in that it won't open.
Also, files in folders will not open. The only response I get is if I exit windows and just momentarily a screen appears which is headed Output Express but is gone before I can read it.
I have had this problem before and only cured it by re-loading Windows XP which I loathe to do again.
Can any one please suggest anything? I have tried the web site and it is all double dutch to me.

You can use:

sfc /scannow (note the space for an initial effort to cure the problem)

Start>Run>type in:

sfc /scannow

and OK.

You should have your XP installation disk available.

Otherwise an XP Repair will retain your current configuration, programs, applications etc. See:

Follow the instructions exactly and that it's for a Repair (not Recovery Console).

If necessary you can use AutoPatcher to replace any missing updates, hotfixes etc from:

...after an XP Repair.

Check out the entry relating to `Folders.dbx` in the second link first then try the other suggestions.
