Outlook won't load when using 'send to email'

When I select 'send to - email' Outlook doesn't open. This also happens when using my scanning software, which should scan to email.

Has anyone got any idea(s) what I can try please?

Is Outlook set as your default e-mail program?

Assuming that you are using XP go to Control Panel > Internet Options > Programs tab and check that the E-mail is set to Outlook. It should be much the same for Vista.

checked that and, yes Outlook is the default email program.

Have you made Outlook the default in the Start Menu?

If not, right-click Start > Properties > Start Menu Tab > Customize and make the email link point to Outlook. You should now be able to right-click a document or photograph > Send To > Mail Recipient > and key in your email details.

thanks for the suggestion - checked Start Menu settings and they were as you suggested - still doesn't open Outlook when I go to: File, Send to email

I should also mention that it seems to freeze the document I'm trying to send and I have to 'force' close it using task manager.

Has nobody any idea why Word 2007 'send to email' (plus other applications) isn't working??

Open Outlook click on Help and select"Detect and Repair"
You will need your Office CD

thanks for the reply - Outlook 2007 doesn't have 'detect & repair' it has Diagnostics which I tried and it found No Problems.
