Outlook - send and receive problem

When I was using Outlook 10 in Windows 7 Home Premium I was able to press the 'Send/Receive' button and it would go to the server immediately and look for new mail. Now I am using Windows 8.1 my Outlook 10 doesn't respond in the same way. It will not react to a click on the 'Send/receive' button.

I have looked at the options menu, but can find nothing which will help me get this immediacy back.

Any ideas?

Hi Chips,

In addition of WoolWell’s answers, you should double check the send/receive settings. Might be manual send/receive option is already turn off.

If the above given solution does not help, then go and repair the PST File by using scanpst.exe. Corruption in Outlook PST file or in MS-Outlook can create such problems.

Hopefully it will resolve your issue.

If scanpst.exe does not helps in resolving send/receive issue, then go for a SysTools Recovery Software.
