Outlook Express & unwanted attachment

  TomG 21:41 07 Jun 2003

I'm using OE ver 6 for my hotmail accounts. Today when I sent a message OE displayed a message to say an unsafe attachment had been blocked - but I hadn't attached anything?

So I sent myself a few emails and each one had an attachment with the name ATT000**.html (where ** is a number). I've contacted symantec and they suggested an online scan which found nothing, my antivirus is up to date and a search of my hard drive doesn't show this file - but the attachments keep attaching.

Any suggestions please?

I too get these.
Cannot ever remember them in the past so think it came in with OE6.
If you open the attachment it sometimes just seems to carry the same message as sent - other times it displays the routing for the message.
I raised this as a query in this forum some time ago and was told it is normal, so don't worry

Thanks, I've just discovered whats happening - OE was sending mail at html when I changed the setting to plain text the attachment disappeared.

Thanks again
