Hi,
I want to import some email account data backed up on an external drive into my new PC but don't know where these files are?

If I can import the data then I won't have to type it all in manually again.

Many thanks.
Regards,
Jules.

What data, eg. Address book?

  rotormota 18:55 01 Oct 2006

It's my mail account settings for each email address I'm after.

Nah.. You will have to set it up manualy...

I think you can import account details. There is a the option to do this in Outlook Express. It's just a case of knowing where the data files are.

How did you create the Backup? Did you just drag files or what

  woodchip 19:21 01 Oct 2006

Do a Search on the Ex for .DBX files these are the ones you need

In Search type your Drive letter then *.DBX

Thanks folks but I've typed it all in again now for each account.

For the future if you go to OE>tools>accounts and export the highlighted account(s) separately to a known location, you can just import later to save typing
