Outlook Express Compression problem

I have XP with all updates.
I agreed to compression, as I have 100's of times before, normally without issues arising.
This time, however, I have lost the last 6 weeks of my Inbox.
My other boxes look OK.
They are not in the deleted folder.
Do you know of any way of recovering these please?

Try searching for .dbx or folders.dbx. Also a System Restore wouldn't do any harm.

Thanks Graham.

I have found the file OK, It is all there except for the last 6 weeks (plus all the new stuff since).
It is 860 mb in size, which quite surprised me.
I do like to keep my emails, ... is this too large?

I tried a Restore, but it had no effect, probably as the file is actually a database application, and restore doesn't affect data like that, so I am told.

I really think those 6 weeks may be lost forever ... any other ideas on how to recover it please?

click here I believe there is a free trial, if it finds them you may have to pay to recover them.
