Outlook Express 6

I am having difficulty opening Outlook Express 6.
When I try to load/activate OE6, the window partially loads but the Inbox (To/From/Subject fields) is blank , the Toolbar is re-arranged, the "Views" field is shortened and the program just hangs. I have tried Repair, Uninstall and Reload without success. I have also cleared out the majority of the Sent and Deleted emails in case they were clogging things up - again without success.
Has anyone encountered this and what is the solution?

I've seen a corrupt email cause similar programs.

Find out where your emails are stored - use Explorer to go there and move all the files to another temporary location (there should be a number of files, suffixed mainly by dbx - move them all to a temporary folder elsewhere.

When you restart OE, it will create new, empty Inbox etc folders. Does it work then?

If so you can try importing your emails back - but at least you'll know where the problem lies.

The same happened to me after I loaded the latest PC Advisor freebee "PC Booster 1.0" in the Spring 2003 edition. I couldn't understand what had happened, but I went into "System Restore" which had, coincidentally, a check point for that morning prior to my loading the problem. After using System Restore my OE6 - and everything else - was O.K.
That's all I can say, except has anyone else had a similar problem with this freebee? Recently, if you remember we had a problem with Time/Mensa on a freebee!!!!
