I used to get a paper clip in the viewing panel of OE so that I could save attatchments to a folder. I don't get this now,can any one tell me where it as gone gone?

Right click anywhere at the top of the panel, select columns and place a check in the 'attachments' box.

Have got i tick in the attatchment box but still no paper clip in the bottom preview panel

Click on View / Layout and make sure that Preview Pane is On and that Show Preview Pane Header is ticked

I know this isn't what you asked about but you mention your preview pane being ON. that's very risky with viruses about because the preview pane has opened a mail for you before you've been able to check if it's a safe one. Look in threads here for how tio turn it off.
