Outlook (2003)- no send/receive

  oldbeefer2 10:55 15 Oct 2009

Friend's Dell laptop (which had/has problems with the microphone click here), has started this problem - send/receive (either scheduled or manual) shows as 'complete', but mail in outbox is still there and no mail arrives in the inbox. I've looked at the 'accounts' - seems OK and tests alright. All other settings are similar to those on my PC. Internet connection is fine, and he is able to log onto Tiscali to check mail. Any thoughts, please?

Under account settings there is a box that says "my server requires authentication" or very similar. Try taking the tick out of the box.

Thank you JJ - the box is unticked.

Not sure what could cause this problem. Have you tried a re-boot - deleting the e-mail in the outbox?
May have a corrupt pst file. Try a scanpst click here

Thanks Woolwell - I'll try it next time I'm round there.
