Original processor in HP Pavilion laptop?

My laptop's just been returned to me after warranty service, and the processor has been replaced because it had gone bad. However, I'm pretty sure it's been replaced by a much slower processor, but don't have a record of the specs for the original processor.

Can anyone tell me how I would find out what the original processor was? The laptop is an HP Pavilion ZV6130US.

I seem to remember the old one was around 1.6GHz. The new one is 997MHz. Can that possibly be right?
I'd be very grateful for any suggestions that could point me in the right direction as to whether I'm being conned!

Thanks very much for your help!

They seem to agree that it now comes with a 2GHz processor. However, mine was bought in 2005. If that's what the HP website says now, can I assume that's what it would have been back then also?

I also meant to say, the specs of the new processor they've installed are:

x86 Family 15 Model 47 Stepping 2 AuthenticAMD ~997 Mhz.

I'm assuming that has to be considerably inferior to the 2GHz that's mentioned on the HP site now, or am I wrong?

Download and Run this Program, PC WIZARD 2008 click here.

Under Hardware tab, Click Processor, It will tell you exactly what the Processor and Frequency (Speed) is.

That's really interesting, thanks.

I was thinking that the data I quoted above from System Info was telling me the processor's max speed, not what speed it's running at now. Is that not true?

My Processor is a Quad Core Q6600, It flits between 1600 & 2400, depending on what programs are running.

and does it show up in System Info as whatever speed it's running at, at that moment?
Or does it show up as a 2400 all the time?
