Options on the settings button, Win8

I recently bought an HP pavilion computer running Windows 8 from PC World. While troubleshooting Skype, I've been asked to select the 'Settings' button then select 'Options'. Unfortunately, the word options does not appear among the choices. Also, when I first ran the computer I could select 'sleep' on the power button, now that choice has gone and I can only select hibernate instead. Is this because I'm not updated to Win8.1? Have to admit I HATE Skype on Win8!

You can still download the desktop version of Skype for use with Win 8. That's what I use, I agree that the Skype App is problematic.
