I have a packard bell optical mouse, when i connect it into a belkin usb 2.0 hub the curser freezes. When connected into motherboard its ok! is it something to do with chipsets, i am running windows xp home!
I don't know why, but is says here click here "A mouse may act up if it is connected to a USB hub. Connect the mouse directly to one of the USB ports on the PC."
There are a number of peripherals which don't like hubs, optical mice are just one of them.
My brother had same prob as he was using an unpowered USB hub - soon as he turned on printer mouse froze. Either plug mouse into sep port or try a mains powered hubHXP
the chassis is to far away, thats why i got the hub for a extension?
No the hub has got power to it!
Just for the mouse plug into a seperate port and use a single connector usb extension lead ? I would still try mains powered hub but other posts seem to indicate mice don't like hubsHXP
Looks like my mains powered hub suggestion was rubbish then !!:-(HXP
