Opera have just released another very early candidate for Opera 9. One extremely nice feature is hovering over an unopened tab - a small thumbnail of the page in the tab is shown. Very neat. I'm already unable to do without the feature within 15 minutes!

I have Opera 8.51, and have checked for new version but it tells me I have the latest. Can you give me a link for version 9

I am on it now, but I can't see what you men. Is there a setting I am missing?

rawprawn - I use 'saved sessions' for my favourite 15 web pages. When I start Opera these 15 pages are opened and the latest versions downloaded from the web. If I simply 'hover' over any of the closed tabs for a second or so I get a small frame about 1" * 6" containing a 1"*1.5" thimbnail and the full address of the page, encoding etc. This occurs 'as a installed'.

Thanks for that I have nothing saved so I was getting no thumbnails, I will have a go.

At least from a brief tryout, it seems that you just open a page in a new tab (or open a new tab and type your url in), and then you can hover over any of the other tabs to reveal thumbnails of the content.

Thumbnails are a little on the small size, but I guess that's why they're called thumbnails.

I'll include the new version on the cover disc as soon as it's approved by Opera.

I'm still struggling to understand, I am sitting here with 17 tabs showing and each has a tiny thumbnail/favicon on the left hand side of eac tab and nothing happens when I hover over the tab that are not open. There are only Thumbnails/favicons on those sites that produce favicons in Favourites. What am I misssing? Is there a setting somewhere?

Hi rawprawn. Check your version! Under Help>About your should see Opera 9 Build 8212. You might just have downloaded the previous version, the newest was released at 09.00 today.

CD Ed's right. The thumbnail is even shown on open tabs.
