Seems there are Opera updates available every other week?

Are the updates noticeable [I know they are in 7.5] or is behind the scenes fixes.

Each new version goes through extensive beta testing. The cycle for major new releases seems to be about six months. Version 7.11 was released in May last year click here. We've had version 7.20, 7.21, 7.22, and 7.23 since then, so that's about six months per major version upgrade and two months between minor version upgrades.

I see releasing frequent betas and previews as a very good thing. It means that developers are passing on improvements to the customer as soon as they are ready. They receive loads of feedback from their dedicated users who add their creativity to the design process. Opera is not just for Windows users, nor just for English users. They now have eighteen different language forums, and versions for other platforms including Mac, Linux, and PDAs.

This release sees improvements to IRC Chat, which is a recent addition. The System Tray Icon and Boss Key are new too. Other improvements relate largely to the interface and customisation. click here for a full changelog.
