Opening New Tabs freezes computer.

  johnpalmer 11:11 14 Aug 2009

Recently, when opening new tabs, using my mouse wheel, my computer freezes for at least 30 seconds before I can flip between tabs. Which is extremely annoying.

Before it was not a problem, with instant response being the norm.

The only change to my computer recently, was having to remove and re-install my BT McAfee Security Centre.

I use IE 8, and run a Pentium 4 3GHz CPU with 2GB of Ram.

I always clean out my computer daily using CCleaner vers 2.22.

Can I make any adjustments to improve this.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Click on 'My Computer'
Right click C: (your OS drive)
In menu click 'Properties'
Click the 'Tools' tab
Under 'Error Checking' click 'Check Now'
click the box next to...
'Automatically Fix File System Errors'
Click 'Start'
A notice will say it can't do it until the next time you boot. Click 'Yes' and reboot.
