Opening firefox 3 on second monitor

  m800afc 09:50 24 Feb 2009

Win XP Pro; SP3 Firefox 3.0.6
I have two 24" monitors on my computer. Monitor 1, the main monitor, is landscape. Monitor 2 is portrait, rotated to suit. Both are set to 1920x1200 pixels.
How can I force Firefox to open automatically on monitor two? It can be persuaded to do this by repeatedly closing down from monitor 2, but it is hit and miss and I have not found a way to do it properly. It will open on monitor 2 for a few days, and then for no reason will revert to opening on monitor 1. Strange.
I do know that running ccleaner will stop it from opening on 2.
Any help folks?

I ought to mention that I have tried all of the workarounds on the firefox forum. None of them work for me.
It seems it is a known issue and some fixes work on some systems. There are however many people for whom any fixes work.
Perhaps the FE could look into this annoying bug with the Mozilla people?
