A recent software purchase requires Opengl to run properly. My present graphics card is pretty ancient so I was thinking along the lines of a Geforce FX5200 128mb AGP card. Would this be suitable? I'm not into gaming so around £50.00 is about the upper limit for a replacement; and how do I know if a card supports Opengl? It's rarely mentioned in specs.
If you're unsure about a particular card, then choose a branded one and check on the manufacturers website. All 5200 cards should be OpenGL compatible but to be sure check the manufacturers website before purchase.
Many thanks for the info; the MSI site does indeed confirm that the card in question supports OpenGL. The software is Imaginova's Starrynight, which requires OpenGL to display the full selection of horizons, and also improve things all round; otherwise it runs fine.
