Online authoring tool

Hi, I was hoping I can rack the brains of some of you experts out there!

I have to build an online authoring tool for part of my college work, it has to be able to allow users to create quizes, randomise questions, allow multiple choice questions, put answers in correct order(ie. order the highest mountains) then mark the amount of questions that were answered correctly.

Has anyone created anything similar, that i can have a look at?

What language do you reccommend i use to create this, I was thinking PHP and use dreamweaver to create the interface.

Any other suggestions?

Plus why do u think PHP would be better than other languages?

If you can give me any advise I would be grateful

Thanks in advance

The only thing i can think of slighly similar to what your doing is moodle.

click here - its designed as an online course system where courses can be made and users can take tests etc and get marked.

Its probably a bit above and beyond what your looking for but it is well worth a look at. You can demo it here click here

I'll have a look out for anything else if i see it though

The other thing to do would be to explore sites like hotscripts click here

and have a look at some of those

I would also agree to using PHP and coding it in dreamweaver. PHP is really good for doing things like this
