This is the problem. A search of google produced a fix which works,

---------------------------
16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem
---------------------------
C:\DOCUME~1\Winxp\Desktop\SOLENQUY.pif
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

expand y:\i386\config.nt_ c:\windows\system32\config.nt
expand y:\i386\autoexec.nt_ c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt
expand y:\i386\command.co_ c:\windows\system32\command.com
exit

But the problem keeps happening.

Does anyone know how to stop this problem occuring or is it yet another Windows querk?
