old age

I have forgotten some medical appointments lately and would like to get some sort of reminder that will show on my monitor. I have my computer on every day and at my age I need some way of prompting. I have tried Microsoft Works Calendar but some of the test I ran to ensure accuracy did not notify me [I'm aware it will be something simple that I'm doing wrong]. Can someone suggest a very easy to program Diary/Task reminder that even a silly old fart like me can work.

Thank you.

How about writing them on a "Post It" and sticking them on the monitor, job done.

Calander in Outlook?
Set appointment with a reminder up to 2 days before.

All the best and thanks.
