thanks for help with athlon v pentium, think I will go for the athlon, but am confused!
What is the difference between a dvd-rw and dvd multiwrite drive (apart from the obvious price).
I need to be able to copy cd's, images to dvd.
I really appreciate any feedback, thanks

the multiwrite can do everything the dvd-rw does (dvd-r/rw,cd-r/rw) plus it has DVD-RAM.

DVD-RAM discs are kind of like a 4.7GB floppy disk.

The difference is the LG comes with Software and P&P. the Panasonic is a Bare drive

i did mention its OEM.

you have to ask if you need the benefit of DVD-RAM,because in doing so you are sacrificing the CD/DVD speed you'd acheive with the single purpose dvd-rw.

these multi-drive's were slow in coming out and the specs do show it,(2xdvd-r,1xdvd-rw)(12xcd-r,8xcd-rw)

most dvd-rw drives are now 4xdvd-r 2xdvd-rw and high-speed cd-rw

so you have an idea a 4.7GB disc recorded at 1x takes an hour,2x takes 30min,4x takes 15min,so you can see the advantage.
