Office 2007 inc. Outlook - crashing

  Mannannan 09:53 12 Sep 2009

I am sure this is a problem for many as "googling" sees lots of items .....

My LEGAL and LEGIT Office 2007 keeps shutting down (mainly Outlook) and then restarting. Each day it also reports that it is a non-legit version.

I have reinstalled my Office 2007 but the issue continues. It SAYS it is authorised yet now I only have days before "reduced functionality".

I have done this (Microsoft sourced):
# Click Start
Collapse this imageExpand this image
. In the Search box, type %programdata%, and then press ENTER.
# Double-click the Microsoft folder.
# Double-click the Office folder.
# Double-click the Data folder, right-click the Opa12.dat file in that folder, and then click Delete.

The above is supposed to restart the authentication process. It does not (for me!)

Help/advise gratefully acknowledged. Thanks.

If you installed the Office Genuine Advantage Notification (KB949810) this could be your problem it has caused a lot of problems with Office. Once this update is installed you can not remove it as it is not listed in the updates.

If you do a search for KB949810 you will find options on how this could possibly be removed/disabled.
