Office 2003 Product Key

  Gary Wood 15:23 08 Dec 2007

The HDD in a friend's computer has developed a fault, and I have replaced it for her. She can't find the original documentation with her product key for Office 2003, so I haven't been able to reinstall it for her.

I have managed to access some files from the old drive by installing it in an USB external enclosure. Is it possible for me to find the product key anywhere on the old drive?

I've found several utilities that can give me the product code for MY copy of Office on the current boot drive, but none of these utilities seems able to detect the key on the external, non-boot drive.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

If you could install this onto the dodgy hard drive you should then be able to see the key shown under Installed programs click here

You should be able to fimd the product key in a text file on the cd, there is on mine.
