(1) in 1994 I bought MS Office Professional 43, yes, all 31 disks as a full product.

(2) Since then, I have upgraded from Office 97 through 2000, Office XP ie laways upgrades.

(3) I have just ordered Office 2003 Pro upgrade which i will be putting on my new notebook.

(4) I still have my Office XP upgrade CDs and codes, but want to install Office 2003 "clean"

Question: can I install 2003 and then just insert the Office XP upgrade CD as the qualifying product? I seem to recall that when reinstallating Office are HD reformats in the lats year or two, I haven't had to install a qualifying product first.

My current notebook is a employer notebook with Office 2003, except for Outlook where I had to revert to Outlook 2002/XP to maintain functionality. This is why I wnat a clean install this time with my own new notebook!

One way to find out is simply to try it - go for an install of 2003 and when it asks for a qualifying product, inset the earlier CD. If no go, try another one.
