I have new machine, XP with OE6. I had an email from a mate with an attatchment. No chance of even saving it as there was a message 'OE removed access to the following unsafe attatchments in your email:BASIC'. I cant remember changing the security levels so they must still be default. Will I have trouble with all future attatchments? Thanks

Tools/Options, Security tab.

UNtick "Do not allow attachments...."

Please ensure that you have up-to-date anti-virus before you do this!

Go to Tools, Options, Security, and take the tick out of "Do Not Allow Attachments to be saved or opened..."

If you don't take the tick out then, yeah, you'll have probs in the future! :)

OE6 doesn't allow you to receive some files as attachments like .exe files as it assumes they are viruses, If this is the case get your mate to zip the file or change the extension letters to something else like .zxz then you change them back when you've saved it.
