OE6-All emails have attachments of themselves

  sheila.weston 16:09 13 Feb 2007

Can someone explain why nearly all my incoming emails have an attachment which, when opened, is a repeat of the email itself.

This has happened since I had a hard disk replacement and also went on broadband.

The odd thing is that a few of the emails arrive without the attachment.

On a similar subject, sometimes incoming image files are shown in the body of the text and sometimes not.

Many thanks.

I cannot remember what it is but it is not the symbol for attachments.

Surely it must be? When you click on the paperclip-like symbol, you get a copy of the email.

Hi, scroll down to number 7 - may be relevant in your case.

Many thanks Technotiger - I am sure that this is the answer. BUT I am wondering if there is a security risk? Isn't there a danger in allowing html messages to come IN to OE?

I have bookmarked the microsoft page - very useful.

I have never had any security problem with html in messages, so I would say, give it a try.

Many thanks. Will do!
