Can anybody recommend a free OCR programme?

Thanks.Plenty available, but I was looking for a recommendation?
abbyy is ok, did you not get a free one with your printer/scanner software
Yes, I got Iris.Unfortunately it's embedded (HP software) with no way to select it, and with no options, so everything with text gets processed the way HP thinks it should!Consequently I have uninstalled it.I used to have very old copies of Textbridge and Omnipage, but the cost of current versions to run with Win 7 is prohibitive just for the odd personal document.
perhaps someone might have a free ocr in a computer mag disc they could send you.

If it is only for the occassional document, online OCR services are OK. e.g. click here or click here
Is 'Narrator' any good? All Programs/Accessories/Ease of Access.
Surely Narrator converts text to speech?
