Observations of W7

  sputnick 15:25 27 Oct 2009

I have been involved with a couple of friends who just boufght new PC`s with W7 as the OS.
When setting it up for them I was surprised at how well it found drivers for most of the peripherals that were connected.
Normally I would spend quite a time setting up broadband routers, no problem, it found eveything it needed to get Sky broadband up and running, even recognised an older Epson printer.
The problems I did experience was a Canon Lide 20 scanner could not be installed and Canon website dosen`t have drivers for it for W7.
Doing a search on Canon website for other drivers it is a bit uncertain.
Trend Micro Internet security needs upgrade to Internet Security 2010.
Ashampoo state that Burning Studio 9 will work with W7 as will Winoptimizer 6.
Reply from Paragon re. Drive copy:-

Drive Copy 8.5 works with Windows 32-bit only, and doesn't support Windows 7. I recommend you to use Partition Manager 10 or wait for Drive Backup 10 release (in several days).

I think we might have to wait awhile for drivers and updates to filter through.
Perhaps PCA can keep us updated.

Hope some of this will be useful
