My specs: Amd64 Athlon3400+ 754skt 2.4mhz cpu Abit KV80 mobo 2gig (2x 1gig sticks) PC3200DDr400 memory Gainward Geforce6800GS 512meg AGPx8 Graphics Card Creative XFi Gamer Sound Card Haulpage usb2 tv tuner HPR900 320 gig pata hardrive Maxtor 500gig usb external hard drive Jeantec 600watt psu. Windows XP Pro o/s i had the same problem with the nvidia January graphics update aswell, basically any driver after 172.24 wont work :( Any Idears? Thanks.
Driver cleaner isn't really necessary in my opinion, from using Revo Uninstaller I've found that nvidia drivers uninstall cleanly, no traces left in the registry. But as your having problems you might want to try it anyway, I guess a problem could arise installing one driver over the top of another without removing the old one first so it wouldn't hurt to try.
Could it be to do with PhysX by any chance? Try switching it off to see if it makes a difference.
i read the help files on installing nvidia drivers and i raed that the agp apeture size on my pc was set at i gig, nvidia recomend 128 so i set it at 128 rebooted installed the latest drivers again and they worked fine :) thanks for the input peeps.
