nvidia geforce 6200 256 memory with Vista

  peterwilliam 13:44 12 Aug 2007

Does anyone use this graphics card with Vista? My present card has only 128 memory (it's not bad but I feel it could be better). Do you think it worth upgrading as these cards are now down to £40?

I'm using this card with Vista ultimate, I just use it for photo editing Photoshop & Lightroom works very well for me

thanks for your response - I'll go ahead with it.

Is it an AGP or PCIe card? Either way, if you're going to pay £40, you might as well get the latest chipset (I'm guessing you don't game at all/much, right?).

You could get a 256MB Radeon 2400 Pro for the same money, AGP or PCIe. Poor for gaming, but bang up to date for features. Or a nVidia 7600 GS, which is one step ahead of the 6200.

If you want links to any of these cards, please say..........

thanks Armchair
It is AGP. You are right about the gaming, something I've never really got the hang of (beyond Solitaire! - am I giving my age away?)
I would like to look into the 256 Radeon and the Nvidia 7600 as you suggest-thanks for your offer.

Like I say, a puny gaming card, but the very latest chipset. Only been on sale a few weeks. Unfortunately, you can only get free delivery on products costing £49.99 or more (sorry, didn't notice that before!).
