Which are the best and most stable drivers for my Creative Ti4200 GF4 card.
I am using 4300 drivers at the moment but XP Pro keeps either crashing to a low res screen or completely blacking out! Help would be appreciated.

According to the NVIDIA site the drivers on this page click here are the latest, download and install and see if they make a difference.

Sorry I should have said, the drivers on this page are the latest for all GFORCE cards

Your link is for the 2000 and XP drivers (appropriate in this case) - it's the drivers download page that lists all GeForce drivers for the various operating systems.

It can sometimes depend on what games you are running. I have been experimenting alot with drivers and found that with my MSI 4200 that the 30.00 & 31.00 drivers run most games smoothest. I have kept trying any new ones that come out but always ended up going back.

one more thing. Make sure you totally uninstall the old drivers first or things will get jerky.

Another word of warning - I found, after installing the latest driver recently, that nVidia's Desktop Manager can cause unexpected and difficult ot solve problems.

It can be disabled from the panel or from Control Panel?nVidia Desktop Manager.

To add to what Mr Crispy has said.

I play MS Links 2003 a lot and any 4x.xx drivers cause problems with the game. Hence I've stuck with 30.82.
