Dear all,

it used to happen every now and again but now, every time i shut down my computer, the num lock light stays on on the keyboard.
is there a fix for this?

i have windows xp home

Usually people are quite happy for it to stay on - it means that when you use the numeric keyboard on the right of your keyboard you will actually type numbers when you use it.

However, if the light stays on when you "shut down" (turn off) your PC you've got a major problem!

a major problem? i dont think so. its been like that for ages. and my computer is fine.

just curious as to what is doing it and whether i can stop it happening.
hopefully its nothing major!

A lot of modern ATX motherboards leave the PS/2 and sometimes even the USB ports powered up even when the system is off. Because of that, numlock stays on.
