Hi I`m using windows XP and using ntl netguard for anti virus ect.but the virus protection keeps giving me a warning.

A VIRUS HAS BEEN FOUND

VIRUS NAME:
W32/Parasitic-Fileinfector-based!Maximus

INFECTED FILE :
D:\SYSTEM VOLUME INFORMATION\_RESTORE{9AD51B9A-18ED-4476-AF99-D565CEC6CE2E}\FIFOED\A
------------------------------------------------------------

DETAILS:
The Anti-virus was unable to disinfect the file. Run the virus scan to verify that other files on your system are not infected.

And gives me the option of deleting it after the next reboot I have ticked the box but it still comes back.My real problem is ,my D drive is a dvd writer and is usually empty at the time.

It may be possible this is sitting in a sytem restore point, however this can be debatable.

You could try turning off system restore and reboot, and then enable system restore.

You will lose all restore points.

Alternatively, try an online scan; click here and this site is very handy also click here
