  baronshunter 08:13 04 Mar 2004

Hello everyone

I was wondering if anyone can help me .I have a 600mb connection running xp .If i leave my computer on for any length of time my connection to the net closes. It is ok while im working online or surfing the net but when it becomes idle it switches off.I contacted ntl and they said it was my firewall .I switched it off and the disconnections carried on .when it switches off i have to reboot to connect back online.
Any help would be great

Are you using the USB port for net connection or a Ethernet card.

I have the same B/B and speed as you but use Ethernet card as I found the Usb to be a bit flaky at times.

Since going Eth never had the slightest prob.

I use norton firewall and anti-virus in full stealth mode.

Please post back with info.
