NTL 2mb Broadband

A couple of weeks ago I had my NTL BB upgraded to 2mb. All OK for a bit. Today it is now so slow even the Postman pushing snail mail through my letterbox is quicker.

Anyone else in the same boat?

I'm on 1 meg. BB with ntl and I found it just the same, but I put it down to the forum site as everywhere else I go is OK

I thought performance had dipped a bit recently.

wobbly76, I agree that this site is probably the most popular on the whole of the internet but surely it shouldn't take that long?

I just tried it on my partners PC which is on AOL dialup and the response is very much quicker than my NTL BB connection?

I have tested my connection speed on click here and it always seems to return a 2mb connection. This is what I get:

Wed, 1 Jun 2005 14:13:14 UTC
1st 128K took 540 ms = 242726 Bytes/sec = approx 2019 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 500 ms = 262144 Bytes/sec = approx 2181 kbits/sec
3rd 128K took 550 ms = 238313 Bytes/sec = approx 1983 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 550 ms = 238313 Bytes/sec = approx 1983 kbits/sec

Are you on Cable as I am on BT/NTL Freedom 512kbps and no problems hear

  pj123 16:02 01 Jun 2005

woodchip, yes I am on NTL Cable. I used to be on BB via my set top box, but as it is a Pace it can only go up to 1mb. I decided to get a standalone modem, which I now have, supposedly up to 2mb it still seems to be slower than my original connection although all the speed tests that I have tried suggest it is 2mb.
