NTL 10mb link & Linksys WRT54GS

I currently have a NTL 10mb internet connection.

NTL have supplied me with a NTL 250 modem & I use a Linksys WRT54GS v6 to connect a 1 PC (wired) & 2 laptops (wireless)

If I run a bandwith test on my pc it always is around 9.5mb which I can accept , but both my wireless laptops will only download at approx 5 - 6mb . Both laptops report an “excellent” connection with the router at 54mb

If I connect my laptops via cables I can download at 9.5mb.

I have updated the firmware which hasn’t helped.

Any ideas on changing settings to speed up the internet connection?

do u know what wireless devices are in your laptops?

The WRT range are, in my oppinion, the best routers you can buy so i cant see the problem being there... sounds like the laptops are running in b instead of g mode?

Try changing the channel in the routers wireless settings.
