new to site, hope to receive help as i am a novice...
trying to upload windows xp on acer one 110 and remove linux as cant get on with it. When i try to boot via cd rom it will not boot showing ntdetect failure!

any ideas or help please.

Did you format the drive to remove the Linux partition?

NTdetect is part of the XP hard drive boot procedure. Did you attempt to install XP and then abort the process or partially install with this error on a reboot?

Was Linux the only operating system ever installed on the computer or was XP previously installed?

i think i have tried unsuccessfully to upload before, gave up!

Do you know how i can rectify this to unstall xp?

I think Fruit Bat's link is obsolete.
Try this one for removing Linux and then install XP.
