nothing happens, on starting pc

boot pc, nothing happens, blank screen, tested screen on another pc ok, taken harddrive out and tested on another pc boots fine.

Can hear hard drive starting put nothing on screen.
could it be motherboard blown but would i be able to hear harddrive starting if this was the problem, there a light on motherboard and fan goes on proccessor

Hi, I suspect that perhaps it is your PSU on its way out. How old is it and of what power?

OK - in that case, if you have a pci graphics card, check that it is properly seated in mobo - you might have disturbed it when removing hard drive. Or, if on-board graphics, suspect mobo.

Could also happen if you had disturbed RAM sticks.

Might be time to think of later model pc. But check all the aforementioned items first, could save you a bit of expense. Might not be too easy to replace Time mobo.
