I have a new XP media PC and have been setting it up for two users. If the first user boots up there is not problem. However if the second user boots up or the second account is accessed by "Switch User" a "Desktop-Notepad" screen comes up with the following text : "[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21787
I have tried running MSCONFIG and looking at the items in the startup menu, but there are so many it is difficult to work out what is gaenerating this.I would appreciate any advice. Thanks

yet again you've come up trumps. I did try to find such a page to give the solution to my problem, but you obviously know how to find it. Just for info: there was no Desktop.ini file in the locations that they suggested, in Method 1. Also in method 2 when I cleared the box by the desktop entry it's location was not listed as "Common Startup" but just as "Startup". When I cleared this this problem has been resolved.
Thanks again for your time and effort.
