No it's not a fact, in fact it's totally fiction.

When you buy the materials for your computer you will be able to purchase an OEM operating system at the same time, but beware if you buy an OEM version is tied to that particular PC

Hi hssutton,

I spoke to one of the largest Online Computer Stores and was told only if I build for Resale. I wanted to purchase for the New Build, Windows XP as I have worked with it for so long on my present computer.

I bought a OEM Windows XP Home from Ebuyer just recently, no problems, just part of another order.

windows support for xp will die out, vista is good as long as you get 4g of ram.

BT,

Did you buy Window XP on its own or with other components for a New Build. ebuyer sells it much cheaper.
