recently i installed 2 128MB RAMS in a mercury motherboard for P-iv processor (p4m266).The system is working fine but the system bios is detecting the total memory as 128 MB only
Definitely correct sort of memory and seated properly? Try removing it and re-seating.
Where does it say just 128Mb of memory? On board graphics? but 128Mb is a bit strong for a machine with just 256Mb.Try this click here. Look under the spd tab. Remember to use the drop down box for the second stick of memory.Could be a faulty stick of ram. Try each stick sepratley.
definetely both memories are giving me display indivdually, the memories are firmly inserted
The system is showing 128 mb memory in the POST screen
have you tried cpu-z?Do you have on board graphics? i.e. no video card.Do you know the make and model of the motherboard, you may have to reset the cmos.
