Not opening when clicking on Netgear Icon

I have just done a clean install of XP Home on my desktop. Loaded the cd for my wireless card,(utility interface)but is not appearing in my taskbar. If I click on the icon in the start menu, still nothing happens. When the pc is booted up I see a brief flash of the netgear utility (enables me to set the WEP etc)but nothing appears, it is basically not loading??

Can you use XP's "Wireless Zero Configuration" instead to manage your wireless networking? It is generally much simpler that third-party software supplied with WiFi adapters.

I downloaded the latest drivers/utilities from Netgear, saved them onto a pen drive, and installed them onto the 'other'pc.
