I have installed windows XP home edition in a new partition on my daughters PC after the copy of XP pro turned out not to be genuine.. I decided to install it but continue to start from the old one (XP pro) until I had time to move all of the settings and programs etc...however on booting, and although it gives the option of starting windows from either xp home or xp pro I cannot select the xp pro version to boot from...its as if the keyboard is dead...you only get 25 secs or so and then it boots into xp home..any ideas as to how I can get it to boot from XP pro would be appreciated. I have a full Acronis backup if need be..but it took 5 hours to take and that puts me back at square 1..

you using a usb attached keyboard

youll have to enable it in the bios if you are but you cant so the other solution is to remove xp pro info and boot only home at initial boot use the link and follow the first part

if you have my computer on desktop do it from there
