when my subscription to Norton I.S 2006 runs out I am thinking of uninstalling it,and replacing it with Avast/Kerio or Avast/Zone Alarm.
Will it be O.K. to just uninstall NIS in Add/Remove Programs,or is it better to clear everything connected with Symantec if so can anyone please explain how to do this.

I recently uninstalled NIS 2005 using Add/Remove Programs. It uninstalled cleanly and I have not had any problems. i did delete the Symantec folder and registry keys, but this wasn't essential.

I would suggest trying this way first and use VoG™'s link if you have trouble.

VoG
is the "Norton Removal Tool" to be used in place of "Add/Remove Programs",or as well as.

Symantec recommend that you use Add/Remove Programs first and then use the Removal Tool if you have problems (as per my post).
