Just installed Norton Internet Security and now Windows refuses to boot.
Everything was fine until the instal now all I get is a black screen.
Running Vista on a packard Bell and no it didnt come with a restore disk or windows disk.

Any Ideas? thanks in advance

I would post over on the Norton Community Forum. Lots of knowledgeable people there.

In the meantime, have you tried Safe mode ?

And from past experience it will probably prevent Windows restore from working whilst enabled, but that was earlier versions.
I got rid of it. ( Sorry to be a downer).

The Norton install doesn't normally ask for a reboot (on Win 7 at least). What was the course of events that made you reboot, exactly, and had Norton auto-updated in the intervening time?

No your not a downer. I won't have Norton anywhere near my machines and most my friends feel the same!

Can you get into Safe Mode, and do a System Restore then start again installing Norton.
I personally don't like Norton but it is rated as one of the best.

If that fails try booting from your Windows Disk.
What OS are you?

Also which Norton, you may need a removal tool for it.

He did say in his post that he doesn't have a disc and that he uses Vista.

sorry, must pay more attention in class.
It was always on my reports!

Try this for a repair; click here
you'll need to burn the iso file to DVD to make a bootable disc.
