Following the latest update from Norton Internet Security (on Thursday night), I now cannot connect to my email server either to send or receive emails (I use Outlook Express). I just get a message saying the connection timed out. My only solution is to disable NIS and then connect to my email server. I can then send and receive as normal. How do I amend the settings in NIS so I can send and receive emails without disabling NIS? I have windows XP and SP2
Thanks to all. I read through the Thread with mounting horror! I had Norton Internet Security 2005 - for which support expired yesterday - but was given NIS 2006 for Christmas. So I uninstalled NIS 2005 and installed NIS 2006 - and, touch wood, emailing is now back to normal. Many thanks for all your help though.
