Norton Ghost

I have purchased a Sony lapton and am usinf Mcafee antivirus, I keep getting the message if I want to load Norton Ghost, please advise what this programe does and whether I should load it onto the laptop.

Norton Ghost is a program that allows you to "ghost" or copy one drive to another as you use it. Example: you have 2 hard drives the same size, C and D (might work with partitions too). your op system is on drive c. It and everything you do is automatically copied to drive d as a backup. I think it will also let you do other kinds of back-ups, but for a lap top I would suggest not to install it. Might go to the Symantec website and check the discription out for yourself

I too have a recent sony laptop with a trial version of ghost but its of no use if you want to clone your drives as their is no recovery cd included to enable you to restore the clone.

i used ghost recently when my desktop got messed up and using a backed up clone to correct my c drive was first class.
