Norton Ghost 2003 & DVD -RW

I have installed NG 2003. I want to back up my hard drive (1.8G after re-build) to DVD -RW. Ghost does all the right things, but thinks the DVD -RW is a CD (800 ish M) and wants to continue burning to a second (and presumeably third) disk.

How do I make NG 2003 realise it is writing to DVD?

When using the backup wizard , Have a look in `advanced settings`Ghost command line` its possible you have a command line to split the file into smaller chunks ie- "ghost.exe -split=640 -auto" .

Are you sure Ghost can recognize your DVD-RW ? it should pick up the first drive with blank media , more info at click here .

A couple of useful sites for Ghost found click here and click here .

Drive is not yet supported by Norton Ghost. (NEC ND1300A)

However, I have imaged my C: drive and managed to burn this to DVD, which then passes an integrity check.

In options, tick the box 'allow spanning' ignore the fact it says cdr, insert a dvd and copy.

ghost will make split files onto the dvd.

I have done this with my pioneer dvd writer.
