I have just used Norton to upgrade the hard disc on my pc. It cloned a copy of the old disc fine but each time I try and boot it tries reading the A drive and I am unable to access the new drive. Any ideas?

First have you a floppy in the drive, If not go into BIOS at start and make the first boot device for Hard Drive

if it's a old computer, in the BIOS do a auto detect of the drives

Only 12 months old and it's set to auto detect

Faulty Ribbon Cable or Disc

To test the Cable, remove the ribbon cable end from the CD and fit it to the hard drive and try a reboot

Thanks for trying Woodchip.

It's weird, the cable is fine as I can reconnect the old drive and it boots fine.

I also reconnected the old drive and did a chkdsk on the new drive and that didn't come up with any problems either
